Unique Training Philosophy

The most exciting dimension to our pedagogy is the modular approach in our course. Every section of Physics, Chemistry & Maths is organised into tightly focussed modules. The modular approach contributes to more effective teaching, greater integration of materials across academic disciplines and more course content.

Top Ten Tips for Increasing Concentration

  1. Start assignments with some curiosity about the material and a positive attitude toward learning.
  2. Designate a place where you go only to study. Use proper lighting.
  3. Identify your distractions. Find ways to decrease them or to postpone them until study breaks (e.g., taking the phone off the hook, turning off instant messenger).
  4. Decrease noises around you while studying. If you need some background music it should be soft. Keep the TV off.
  5. Use “active study” techniques: sit straight in a chair at a desk, start out with questions about the material, outline chapters, underline key phrases after readings section, write notes in margins, ask yourself what you have learned.
  6. Divide your work into smaller manageable tasks that can be completed in a short period of time. Push yourself to complete one small task, then move on to the next task. Focus on one small task at a time.
  7. Use times of peak alertness for studying difficult or less interesting topics. When you are tired of hungry concentration will be lowered.
  8. When your mind starts to wander come up with some cue words to say to yourself (e.g., “Focus.” “Get back on “) to focus your concentration again.
  9. Take breaks when you have completed tasks or when you feel concentration has decreased. Breaks should be approximately 10-15 minutes.
  10. If you have other assignments or issues on your mind write them down on a “to do” list or take a small step to deal with them. Then get back to focusing on the task at hand.

Steps to Deal With Exam Stress

Exams are just to assess your preparation. So just relax, it is not the end of the world if you do not perform well in them.

Organize: Make sure you have all the things necessary for the exam, your stationery, your identity card, your watch etc. Last minute searching for things can stress your mind further and create panic during the exam which can be disastrous.

Diet: Before you go to the exam, eat foods that are energy producing and at the same time not too heavy on your stomach that make you sleepy in the examination hall. Never go in on an empty stomach as you can end up concentrating more on your hunger than your exam paper.

Relax: One hour before the exam, relax!! Don’t stress yourself feeding more information to your already worked-up brain. Whatever you have learned, be confident of it and try to picture a calm stream, or take some deep breaths. You have done your preparation and now you should prepare yourself to give your best. Atired mind will do no good, so it is necessary to go into the hall with a refreshed mind. You have worked hard for it and nobody can take away your hard work. Remember nature’s law, “What you give always comes back to you”. If you not prepared well, let your mind accept the fact. it is not possible to go unprepared and expect no stress and good results. Instead of trying to revise that topic you forgot to learn, try and briefly go over the different topics in your head so that way you keep an organised and open mind without putting pressure on yourself to learn that other topic.

Plan: Once you get the question paper in your hand, read all the questions and make a quick rough plan how you are going to invest your time for doing your best. Attempt the questions which you know the best first. In this manner, you will increase your confidence further. Appreciate yourself for remembering the solutions and answers, your brain will work better. Never curse yourself if you forgot or didn`t study something which you though about studying. Remember it is too late now, and that you focus should be on the present moment.

Cross-check: The last 15 minutes should be to review your paper. It is very important to check your answers again in the end. Recheck every answer with patience and you will be surprised by how many careless faults you come across. Make the necessary corrections.

Forget: Most of the time after the exam is over, we worry about the results or waste time discussing what our friends have written. Realize that the time to do something about the results passed when you handed the answer sheet to the examiner. Knowing how your friend did on the paper will only add more worry. It is better to concentrate on how you will face your next exam or how you are going to spend your time efficiently.

During this stage elaborate study material is provided so that the student has no need of referring to books. The material is so designed that it motivates and stimulates the students reasoning and analytical ability.

Skill development stage
During this sage the students are exposed to selected collection of problems. This involves solving the problems which can test basic fundamentals. Special attention is given to clarify the doubts and problems faced by the students..

Application stage

This not only builds the confidence of the students but also makes them familiar with the divergence nature and complexity of the problems. This includes all innovative problems based on the latest trends in IIT-JEE examination. The students are given sufficient range of questions so as to give them thorough exposure and practice in solving graded problems from the entire syllabus.

Testing stage
The whole course is divided into modules. After completion of each module, self achievement test are conducted. These diagnostic tests are performed to evaluate how much the student has grasped and to gauge his performance. The test papers are evaluated with great care and the answer sheets are returned to the student with corrections and comments. The student weaknesses are discussed and his difficulties are cleared. The question paper is discusses thread bare in the class so that every student can have the benefit to the maximum from the exercise.
At the end of every semester, performance analysis is sent to parents.
